BPA is a hormone-disrupting chemical linked to various cancers and other serious health problems. According to Health Canada, there are measurable levels of BPA in the urine of 95% of Canadians. In 2010, the chemical was placed on the government’s toxic substances list, and its use was banned in baby bottles and sippy cups. Environmental Defence has just released a report on BPA, and is calling for a ban on its use in all food contact materials in Canada.
